Episode 4: Zoe Cohen - November 2026

Listen now on Spotify

Zoe Cohen is best known for her involvement in some of the era defining protest movements of our times. She has been arrested multiple times under the banners of Extinction Rebellion, Insulate Britain, Just Stop Oil and Defend Our Juries. She has been a spokesperson for all four movements. Zoe is also an executive coach, an outspoken anti-Zionist Jew, a mum, a citizen and an award-winning communicator.

In this fourth episode of the JUKEBOX podcast, Zoe and host, Morgan Phillips, discuss Zoe’s thoughts and perspectives on what the climate and environmental movement is and does, how the media interprets and presents the action that is happening, and the ups and downs of life on a planet that isn’t being well served by those in power. This interview was recorded in October 2026 shortly after the Green Party of England and Wales autumn conference and one day after the Holborn and St Pancras parliamentary by-election, which saw Green Party leader Zack Polanski finish second. The interview starts with Zoe’s reflection on that conference and the treatment Zack Polanski received from the media - as well as from within the Green Party - as the reactions from the ‘Zionism is Racism’ motion being passed rippled out.

About this podcast

JUKEBOX is a podcast by The Miracle Inn, hosted by Dr Morgan Phillips. On the JUKEBOX podcast we ask each guest to choose three songs they'd put on The Miracle Inn jukebox if they were ever to visit. The songs are a starting point for a conversation about their work and their ideas, but we also get to know them a little bit more too.

The Miracle Inn is a community interest company and membership organisation focused on tackling the phenomenon of hyper-individualism.

Zoe's song choices (we allowed her four :))

  1. “Big Yellow Taxi” - by Joni Mitchell

  2. "We have all the time in the world” - by Louis Armstrong

  3. “One day like this” - by Elbow

  4. “Everybody Hurts” - by REM

We have created a Spotify playlist featuring all four songs and a song from Euros Child's album The Miracle Inn.

If you have another device within earshot, you could put this playlist on in the background while you listen to the conversation.

Zoe's 'accidently on purpose' item
