Decision time.

I said I’d decide whether to actually launch (not just pre-launch) The Miracle Inn in the spring. Well, the spring is here, it is time to decide.

Yesterday, I hit submit on our application to Companies House. Effectively then, that is decision made: The Miracle Inn CIC is go!

:)

This decision is based on numbers (we’re not quite at 500 email subscribers, but we are well on the way), and the feedback that has been coming in - this is what has clinched it.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has told me - in public, in private, online, and in person - that The Miracle Inn is needed, and that we should go for it. But it is how you’ve said it that has made the difference.

People are not saying ‘go for it’ in an encouraging-but-slightly-patronising-friend type way; it’s not been “go you, you follow your dream Mogsie” that I’ve been hearing.

The ‘go for it’ has been said with feeling. I’m hearing “Yes! We need to rein hyper-individualism in. Yes! We need to bring people together. Yes! We need The Miracle Inn. I’m in.

So, here goes.

Next steps

In a couple of week’s time we should find out if The Miracle Inn’s application to become incorporated as a Community Interest Company (CIC) has been successful.

Once we have that, we can apply for a business bank account. With that account in place, we can officially open and start recruiting our founder members (it will cost £30/year). I’m hoping we can do this by mid May.

We will also recruit for some Non Executive Directors and hold an inaugural members meeting to vote them in.

Crowdfunder

Finally, I’m going to launch a Crowdfunder campaign later this month with the goal of raising £699.12 to cover the essential costs (Companies House, PLI, Squarespace, Zoom) of setting The Miracle Inn up.

More on this to follow, but it is likely to include a sponsored *something* in west Wales in early May.
