The Miracle Inn - Online

There are many people working, in many different ways, to tackle the climate and nature crisis.

The crisis, however, is deepening.

As a result, disillusionment about how environmentalism is done is growing.

New approaches are, however, emerging. The focus is pivoting to root cause issues like hyper-individualism and social atrophy.

The Miracle Inn is for those who are rethinking and reimagining what environmentalism is, and needs to be to address the root causes of the climate and nature crisis.

Through our work in west Wales we will do environmentalism differently, online we will facilitate discussion on why and how to do it differently.

Listed below are a proposed set of online (and occasional in person) ways for members of The Miracle Inn to gather. The list is intended as a rough sketch to help illustrate what The Miracle Inn might become.

Core, however, is The Miracle Inn itself. It is envisaged as a digital ‘third place’. It won’t be open all hours to begin with, but that will hopefully become possible as membership grows. We’ll start with three one hour ‘Miracle Club’ slots per week, 6am on a Tuesday, 2pm on a Wednesday, and 10pm on a Thursday. There will be a host, appropriate safeguarding procedures, and a few co-created house rules (every good inn has a solid set of rules and customs to adhere to!)

The digital ‘third place’ is the foundation, the catalyst. Many projects, activities, and campaigns are possible. The other five ideas below are provisional, some may come to fruition, others not. More ideas will emerge from the membership.

  • Miracle club

IDEA: Online ‘no agenda’ drop in. The Miracle Inn will open its virtual doors three times a week. There will always be a host and appropriate safeguarding procedures.

  • Miracle activism

IDEA: The emergent new approaches to environmentalism frame the causes of the climate and nature crisis to approaches that have gone before. Could The Miracle Inn campaign on the root cause issues?

  • Miracle journeys

IDEA: Can The Miracle Inn bring new forms of environmentalism to life through real life journeys that highlight and tackle root cause issues?

  • Daydream and Jam

IDEA: In the time-pressured distraction filled world of hyper-individualism we struggle to do two key things: daydream and jam. What if The Miracle Inn helped its members to do both?

  • Miracle workers

IDEA: Online talks, workshops, and podcasts featuring experts and pioneers of the forms of environmentalism that are emerging.

  • Miracle meet-ups

IDEA: As membership grows geographical clusters will form, we’ll get them together to do ‘Miracle Club’ ‘no agenda’ meetings in person. This is The Miracle Inn on the road.

The projects proposed above are only ideas at this stage. They need to be workshopped and refined by the founders members of The Miracle Inn.

6am, 2pm and 10pm Miracle club will be able to start very soon. We can likely get ‘Miracle workers’ started early on too.

The more ambitious projects may require specific funding and/or a larger membership. The Miracle Inn will work to secure funding once we have established ourselves as an official CIC. The membership, we hope, will grow rapidly.

To work best and to be true to who we are, The Miracle Inn needs to be member-led and partnership focussed. All of which is to say is, if you have an idea for a project, or you have a project you want to partner up on, please get in touch!

To help us get The Miracle Inn off the ground in 2026, please sign up to our e-newsletter today and please spread the word.

If you’re in west Wales, you might also want to be an ‘in real life’ regular here too.
